Jen's Doggie Daycare

Welcome to this past Wednesday night at my house...never a dull moment :o).  If my allocation career doesn't work out, I think I may have found my next job!

Maya

I am a terrible foster mom.  And blogger.  And let's face it, this list could go on.  But in the interest of keeping this post an acceptable length, I'll spare you.  The true point of this post is that I have a new foster baby!  And I haven't even blogged about her yet!  Bad foster mom. Don't worry, I've apologized to her as well. She was very forgiving.
So who is "she?" SHE is an adorable sweet baby, about 13 weeks old and we believe she is a lab mix. Her name is Maya...she also responds to MayMay, May-girl and Pretty Girl. Because all dogs in my life have at least 3 names. What can I say, I like to keep things interesting. :o)

Other things to know about Maya: she sleeps through the night (HALLELUJAH!!), she loves her rawhides, she lives for her walks and she's a Foster Mama's girl. This girl is also 1000% puppy complete with clumsy sprints across my kitchen and constant (unsuccessful) lessons that hardwood floors are slipppery. And both of the above are constant sources of entertainment for me! (Only cause she doesn't really get hurt.)
This beauty will be available in a few weeks!  If you or anyone you know is interested in adopting her, please e-mail me at dallasjen@hotmail.com.

My house is done!!

I am so excited to show ya'll these pictures.  I owe a HUGE thank you to my parents and my sister Lauren who worked their booties off Easter Weekend to get my patio and spare room finished.  (And just so ya'll don't think I was lazy, I was at the office working while all these changes were going on!)

My finished patio:

It's really hard to get a good picture of this area.  I feel like these pictures really don't do it justice.  The couch is on your left as you walk onto the patio and the chairs are on your right.  Before we put the furniture together, (yes, we!) my Dad power-washed the deck then he and my Mom painted the fence.  There's still a few things I'd like to do, like add twinkling lights around the top of the fence and maybe add some small plants but I love the way this space turned out!  I've already used it quite a bit. :o)

The finished spare room:

I love, love, LOVE my new spare room.  Again, these pictures don't really do it justice but I promise, it looks SO good in person!  This is when you first walk into the room...and yes, that it Toby's pillow and toy in the corner because that's where he sleeps while I get ready in the morning.  I'm pretty sure he camps out there all day actually...

This is the wall on the left side of the room.  My vanity area is on the right side with the patterened chair.  I LOVE my patterend Tar-jay chair.  It's so comfy.  And I like that the vanity area is kind of hidden too so I can leave it messy and no one will see!  (Although I try really hard to keep it organized and clean because apparently I don't like clutter in my 30s.)

Next up: my new "office" area.  I feel so grown up; I've never had a different room to put my desk in!  It's always been in my bedroom.  It used to be an antiqued white which was pretty, but it didn't work with the overall look of this room so well.  My Dad painted it a glossy black and now it fits the space perfectly.  I LOVE a cheap project. :o)
We found this zebra print chair at Steinmart for $60.  In my opinion, that's fate, people.  We got the filing cabinet at Office Max and I'm thrilled with how pretty it is.  I searched high and low for a nice filing cabinet and all I could find were the metal ones that were not cute and WAY overpriced.  My sister and mom found this on one of their outings and it's exactly what I was looking for.
We added touches to the other rooms and I'll show ya'll those pictures later in the week because I don't want this post to be obnoxiously long.
I hope ya'll had a fabulous Monday!

Happy Spring!

Sorry for the blog neglect, loves.  It wasn't intentional.  Life and work came along and kicked me on my booty so here I am, begging for forgivness.  Please?  With a cherry on top?
And just because I really have missed ya'll, here are a few updates/confessions from the past few weeks:

**THE PUPS HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!!!  I know you're secretly happy because now maybe I'll talk about something else, and I promise I'll try, but for this milli-second, I'm gonna talk about them. :o)  The little ones went to separate homes and are doing very well.  Much better than I did at first.  I was smart though, and explained to each adopting family that the pups and I are a package deal. Thankfully, everyone has been very accomodating with pictures and updates which makes me a very happy foster Mom.

**3/4 of my family are in town for Easter weekend and Katie, my youngest sister, likes to refer to this as a psuedo-reunion because she's the one missing.  Little does she know she's actually the lucky one because the real purpose of this trip is to help me finish the house.  And when I say help me, I mean I'll be at the office working while the parentals and my sister are doing the manual labor.  The one snafu?  We forgot to tell my sister Lauren what she'll be doing while she's here.  OOPS!

**Lauren looked at me when we were at the grocery store last night and rightfully so, declared me a mess.  I have scratches on my arms from bathing the pups (have you ever tried to bathe 2 pups who DON'T like water??), I have a bruise on my leg from Billie's new brother and a scar on my nose that makes me look like Rudolph from when Billie bit me on the nose.  Walking.  Disaster.

**Have ya'll ever gotten on your own nerves?  Yes, you read that right.  I've had a couple days like this recently and they put me in an incredibly bad mood.  Seriously, what are you supposed to do when you bug yourself??  It's not like you can walk away from the situation.  So I've done what any rational 30 year old woman would do.  I poured myself a glass of wine.  And yes, even that annoyed me.

**I have a ton of posts planned in my head, I just need to find the time to actually write them.  Coming up:  Pinterest Love, Favorite Spring Trends, Recipes to Try, Updated House Pics, Blogs I Love.  Expect them in the next year or two.

I hope ya'll are fabulous!  Thank you for sticking around even well, when I haven't. :o)
